TickTick is a todo app, and a good one. Today view, inbox, recurring tasks, a calendar, habits if you want them. People switch to it because they will actually tap the checkbox. That is the job it was built for.
A list app is still a list app. The task does not know the customer. It does not know the project. The work arrives as “can you send that?” in a thread, a voice note, a thing you remembered in the car — and TickTick only has it if you typed it in. The assistant in a list app mostly helps you write the line. It does not run the rest of your workspace.
What people use it for
Personal tasks. A shared grocery list. Recurring chores. A calendar overlay so dates and todos live in one glance. Pomo timers and habit streaks for people who like that loop.
Teams sometimes share a list and pretend it is project tracking. It is still a list. The people, the docs, and the tickets are somewhere else. Sunday is for copying.
Where it stops
TickTick does not hold the rest of the work. A task called “Send proposal” has a date. It does not have the customer, the last note, or the invoice that should follow. Integrations exist. They are glue. You still maintain two truths.
Capture is a ceremony. Open the app, pick a list, type. If you are walking, you often do neither. There is no phone call that writes the record. There is no email to the assistant that adds the task and later marks it done. Reminders in a list app ping the line. They do not sit on a person.
You cannot generate a board of work that is also your CRM. You cannot open a person and see every open task next to the notes. The list is not docs, not projects, not a personal OS. It is the list.
What Thogits is instead
Thogits stores tasks as records in the same database as people, projects, and tickets. The assistant builds pages on them: today, inbox, a detail screen. Those screens are not a special todo engine. They are pages on the same records the rest of the space uses.
The difference is the assistant. In chat, by email, or on a phone call, it can add an item and mark it complete. “Add call the accountant tomorrow.” “What’s on today?” “Done with the invoice follow-up.” It writes the same records the list shows. It does not send SMS.
A task can belong to a person or a project when that is the truth. Completing “Send proposal” is still on that customer. See todos. The same engine runs a life or a small shop.
Invite the people doing the work. One space, one set of records. No per-record access lists. Templates install a starting system you then reshape. Reminders and schedule-based automations can send you today’s list in the morning. They do not fire the instant a checkbox flips.
Web and iPhone, live. Other agents can see and edit these records through MCP. Thogits is not trying to out-design a list app. It is a list whose records an assistant can actually add and complete, in the same workspace as everything else you track.
