You do not lack a todo app. You have Todoist from a previous life, maybe two accounts, a project for work and a project for home. The list is still not the work. The work arrives as “can you send that?” in a thread, a voice note to yourself, and a thing you remembered in the car.
So you open Todoist to type it in. Later you open it to mark it done. If you are busy, you do neither. The app is a museum of tasks you meant to copy over.
Thogits is not trying to out-design a list app. It is todos as records, sitting next to people, notes, and projects, with an assistant that can actually add an item and tick it off.
Todoist is a list
That is the honest product. Inbox, today, upcoming. Projects and labels. Recurring tasks that fire on a schedule. Karma if you like a score. Capture is a tap. Complete is a tap. If all you need is a personal list you will type into, it is fine.
It falls over when the task is also a piece of work that lives somewhere else — a customer, a doc, a project — or when capture happens by talking, not tapping. Integrations exist. They are still glue. You keep two truths: the list, and the thing the list was about.
Todoist’s assistant mostly helps you write the task. It does not take a phone call from the pavement and mark the follow-up done. It does not put the task on the customer record, because there is no customer record. The list still lives in Todoist.
A shared project is still a todo product you invite people into. The note you wrote last week, the person you owe a reply, the project with three steps — those are other apps.
What replacing it looks like
Records, not a silo. A task is a record: title, status, due date, notes, an optional area. It can point at a person, a project, a doc, or a ticket. Completing “Send proposal” still shows on the customer. Read data.
Pages on those records. Today. Inbox. A task detail. Done recently, so you can see you actually finished something. Those screens are not a special todo engine. They are pages the AI builds on the same records the rest of the workspace uses. When you want a different today, you ask again.
An assistant that ticks things off. Chat, email, or a phone call — not SMS. Walking: “Add pick up the spare keys, today, home list.” Evening: “Keys are done.” The list updates. You did not open Todoist, pick a project, and tap a plus. See agents.
Bring your own agent. MCP so another agent can see and edit these records.
One space. Invite someone you share life admin with, or the people on a piece of work. Same tasks. No per-record permissions. Fine for a household or a small team. Collaboration is an invite.
Templates, reminders, a clock. Install a starting system and reshape it — templates. A scheduled job can send today’s list in the morning. Reminders and automations sit on the same records.
Web and iPhone, live. Same list at the desk and in the car. A personal list does not need a different product. A task on a project does not need a second app.
Stop copying the list into the rest of the week
Todoist is a standalone list — recurring chores, a clean today view, one dedicated app. It is the wrong place to run work that is also a person, a note, and a project. Capture happens in conversation. Completing happens in conversation. The list should be the memory of that conversation, not a copy you meant to make later.
Open the compare hub. Read features. See pricing. Then put the list in the same workspace as the rest of the stuff it is about.
